Competition Rules 2018

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Duration

1.1  One Innings per side each limited to 20 Overs

1.2 Each side must have faced (or had the opportunity to face) five overs in order to constitute a match.

 

2. Hours of Play

2.1 Each Team has 1 Hour 15 Minutes to bowl 20 Overs. Interval should be no longer than 15 Minutes.

2.2 In the event of Interruption or delay during the 1st Innings the calculation of number of overs to be bowled shall be based upon one over for every 3 3/4 minutes in the total time available for play up to the scheduled close of play.  In the second Innings of the match, overs shall be reduced at a rate of one over for every 3 3/4 minutes lost.

 

3. Fielding restrictions

3.1 A 30 yd fielding circle will be used throughout the Competition.

3.2 For the first 6 overs 2 fielders are permitted outside the fielding circle at the instant of delivery

3.3 For the remaining overs of the Innings only 5 fielders are permitted outside the circle at instant of delivery.

3.4 In circumstances when the numbers of overs are reduced the fielding restrictions shall be:

4. Overs per Bowler

Each bowler may bowl a maximum of four overs. In a delayed or interrupted match, no bowler may bowl more than one-fifth of the total overs allowed unless such a number has been exceeded before the interruption.

 

5. No Ball  and Free Hit after aFront  Foot Fault No Ball

Law 42.6 (a) (i) of Cricket Will apply throughout the Competition.

The delivery following a front foot no ball shall be a free hit for which ever batsman is facing it

 

6. Wides

Leg side wides should be applied throughout the competition and in compliance with Law 25 (wides)

 

7. Result

7.1 The winning Team shall be decided by the team scoring the highest total in their allotted overs.

In the result of a Tie the result shall be decided by the team losing the fewest wickets.  If this does not produce a result then the result shall be decided by the score greater at overs 5 then 4 then 3 then 2 then 1.

7.2 For calculation of the result due to interuption in the second innings the North Wales Cricket Calculator shall be used.

7.3 In the round Robin Competition the winning team shall receive 2 points and the losing team 0.  In the event of a tie on points the  Run rates of the 2  matches played will decide the overall winners.

 

8. Player Eligibility

No Overseas or Professional players are permitted to participate in the Competition.
